Hair is already highlighted blonde but i want to dye it back to dark brown. can i do it myself?

I got my hair highlighted in September(professionally). Before it was dark brown, which is my natural color. After highlighting it, it got really blonde. Now my roots are showing and I really want to go back to dark brown but i cant really afford to get it professionally done. I wanted to do it myself but I've been told that since i already have color in my hair, that it might mess up. Any suggestions? Can i still do it myself without it messing up since its been a few months? And if so, any tips?

first dye it dark brown with a tint of red in it this will stop the blonde coming through and looking green after a while just get the right shaded brown for your hair and dye it again but leave for about 4 weeks....

IF you want to go back brown first dye ur hair red but mix it with dark brown only a lil bit tho ,, it will turn ginger but then after washing/conditioning put the dark brown dye into ur hair and that will do it

yes you could

however if you go straight to brown you may get a green tint.(it happens).

Ive been told(by a hairdresser) that if you want to dye your hair brown from blonde(bleached or just dye) you need to tone it down to a darker blonde then a brown with a redish coulor to it say aubun-chestnut coulor then brown

i did that with my hair. it just made different tones in it highlights and lowlights but not to drastic. turned out really nice

If You Want To Do This Yourself Just Make Sure The "Highlighted" Strands Are In Good Shape And Get A Good Haircolor Product Like L'Oreal Exellence Creme. And WHATEVER You Do,-DON'T Color Your Hair Red. This Is A 'Tintback' Technique That Should ONLY Be Used By Professionals. Just Make Sure The Brown Shade Is NEUTRAL. NOT "ASH" Or "Warm" (Red) And Make Sure To Apply To The "Highlighted" Strands First. The Color May Fade The First Time But, A Second Application Should Last For A Few Months. After That, Just Use A No-Ammonia/Low-Peroxide Color Like Clairol庐 Natural Instincts To Refresh Color Until The "Highlighted" Strands Grow-Out.

yeah im a fine believer of doing things myself !!! dye your hair red this will give the brown a base colour to hold onto and stop it going dull and green

then dye it brown simple as that

buy lab garnier colour 2 for 6.99 at min and you need a red and a brown dont buy auburn as this is a two toner and will make ginger you must buy red
